Half way through the week, it has overall been work, exercise and adjusting to the cold weather and the shorter days. I have a feeling it will be along winter, I can´t remember what a real winter feels like.
Think it will be a bit of a challenge.

…..

As I have not really lived through a winter in five years, I dont have that many winter clothes anymore. I do have some quality clothes and shoes, but not enough for these long winters we face here in the north. Therefore I´m slowly going to build up a sustainable autumn & winter wardrobe.
Purchasing clothes from mindful brands, with high quality fabrics and my favourite; finding secondhand/vintage treasures.

Knit and scarf are both from Norwegian brand Arnie Says, who are very focused on using high quality natural fabrics and high standard production in Europe. (Knit was given as a gift at work.)

Hey Monday

I was loving the gloomy weather yesterday, sometimes it is nice to have a complete indoor chill Sunday, without feeling bad about not leaving the house.
After two days of going through my grandmas personal things, which have been nice but also a bit sad… It was good to just have this type of Sunday.

……

As a blogger and social media person, I use social media quite often. Instagram being my social media hang-up and favourite platform. I find it important to find your style and have a continues look. Having a type of red thread, will make your Instagram look much better as complete “lookbook”.

I use VSCO for editing, always using the same filter. Using the same filter will make your photos more similar and give them more of the same feel.
I use C1, then depending on the colour in the photo, I will turn the vibrant a bit down to 7 or 8.
Then I turn the saturation down as well. Usually -1 or -2.

My Instagram style is a combination of travel/nature photos and outfit photos. Creating each row into a story that belong together. I choose to focus on this as nature, travel and ethical fashion are my most common blog themes as well, so the blog and Instagram work well together.

Hi lovelies

Happy weekend to everyone, I´m currently sitting at my mums kitchen table, enjoying some hot lemon & ginger water watching all the beautiful colours outside. I´m home for a long weekend, spending time with family, helping my granddad going through some of my grandmas personal belongings. I still have this kind of hope that she is just away for a long holiday, so going through her belongings, is suddenly making it all so real…

…..

The third autumn month is just around the corner, so layer up season are defiantly here and it is just getting colder. Jens took some really nice photos for me the other day, as the light was great, and all the colours were magical. Real autumn is one of the great things I´ve missed these past five years as Sydney autumn is nothing special.

“Coppers, golds, and rusted tones,
Mother Nature’s way of letting go.
They fall and gather one by one,
Autumn is here, summer has gone.

Crunching as I walk through their warm fiery glow,
Nature’s carpet rich and pure that again shall grow,
To protect and shield its majestic tree,
Standing tall and strong for the world to see.”

I´ve been back in Norway for a little while now, and I´ve started noticing certain things that is different from my lifestyle in Sydney to here in Oslo. Therefore I figured Ill make a little comparison/likes/dislikes from each city. Everywhere has its ups and downs, somehow you cant have it all in one place. Probably one of the reasons we all crave change and adventure? Me personally are to restless to just be settled in one place, I already know that even though I love my country, I will not live here for the rest of my life. I would like to have it as a base, eventually buy property, then venture out to new places.

– SYDNEY LOVE –

The beaches, I do really miss the amazing beaches just a minute away..

All the great health cafes around

Affordable to go out have dinner and get drunk, without pre-drinking

The beautiful harbour

Almost no unnecessary plastic wrapping

– SYDNEY HATES –

The insane heatwaves during the summer

Peoples work ethics, not very impressive

Public transport, so so…

Bad quality on apartments & houses

– OSLO LOVE –

All the amazing nature so close by

Good public transport system

Having friends and family close by again

A intimate city vibe

Best living standards

– OSLO HATE –

Junkies and gypsies everywhere, government should organise this better

Food and drinks are so expensive

People still thinks it is all right to wear fur, disgusting and shameful…

WAY TO MUCH PLASTIC, I´m still in shock over the amount of plastic people are using here..

Over all Sydney lifestyle and Oslo lifestyle are quite different, but they both have great qualities, no doubt Sydney will always have an important place in my heart. Maybe one day Ill go and live there again, even if only for a short while.

Hi lovelies, hope you´ve had a good weekend?

I´ve been planning to start a monthly blog post with my eco recommendations and tips. As I´m very passionate about an ethical lifestyle, I thought this is a good way to share more of this with you guys.

Every month will be different, everything from food & health to product recommendations & easy lifestyle adjustments.

If you have some extra time during your weeks and like being outdoors? Locate a animal shelter in your area and go help out walk the dogs or play with the cats. Here in Oslo you have the FOD farm and Solplassen (the sunny spot). Dogs need a lot of walking, so spending an hour walking a dog that does not yet have a loving home, is a great thing to do. You can also become a regular volunteer or donate to the organisations.

We had such a great afternoon walking a lovely lady called Vilde. She was a really cute little dog, but very shy and hesitant, as she has been most likely living on the streets in Greece. But it was lovely to see how quickly she trusted us and allowed us to get close.

Hi lovelies,

I´m having a day off today, which have been pretty productive actually. I´ve been out on a really nice long walk, stopping buy our local mall to get a few things needed for our apartment. Signing important petitions and researched a few things I will update you on later. I also did yoga and now eating a healthy noodle salad while updating the blog.

I´ve been so lucky to have my mums old jacket from the 80s. A beautiful suede lamb wool jacket, that is still in great condition. Most of you probably know my stands when it comes to animal products. So I only choose to purchase secondhand / vintage leather products, and in this case it was either my mum giving me her old jacket or it going to a market or someone else. It is important to me to be clear with my beliefs and decisions in this matter.

Appreciate all the living things you are surrounded by.

“If you truly love nature,
you will find beauty everywhere.”

Our good friends in Sydney; Zoe & Mauro are also moving back to Europe, so they came over to visit for a spontaneous long weekend. They left Sydney in March, moving to Amsterdam, as Zoe is from there. We haven´t seen them since they left in March, so it was amazing catching up again.
