Hi lovelies, just wanna check in to let you know that Bali/ Nusa is amazing, but most of my time is dedicated to the learning of the yogi system & lifestyle, so I´ve decided to not feel any pressure on updating the blog frequently. Whenever I have time and I feel like it I will do a little update. In the meantime I´ll focus 100% on this life changing journey that I´m on. This is the best decision I´ve made, next to moving to Australia five years ago.
Namaste.

Much love from paradise

My mind, soul and body is on this amazing journey learning and processing so many interesting and amazing concepts. Learning to connect with myself on a new level, connecting with other like minded individuals.

The Teacher training retreat is on Nusa Lembongan, Island outside of Bali, at a little bungalow resort called Agung Bungalows. It is right on the beach, with our shala facing the ocean. This journey is really taking me to new places within myself and I`m so grateful to be here with this people that I´m doing it together with.

Its Tuesday night here in Oslo, I just came home from work, meditation meeting and lovely dinner with a girl from the meditation. We went to a an amazing vegan place here in Oslo, perfect last day before a month in paradise with in depth yoga practise.

…….

I´m packed and ready to go, trying to bring as little as possible. Most days will be filled up with yoga, meditation, learning, group work and self practise, so not much time for other activities. So packing has been really easy this time, the essentials are all the training gear; gym clothes, yoga mats, books, assessments and the rest of the booklets provided. Apart from that I´ve brought a couple of long lose dresses, beachwear and light tops and skirts for when we have som time off to explore.

Blessing from a pretty nervous and exited yoga enthusiast

HOLA FRIENDS,

I´m flying off to Bali in a few days, feeling a bit unconscious & nervous for this month that lay ahead. This week have been fully booked, mostly work. So I haven´t got much spare time. I´m almost ready for this, just need to pack my bags and make sure all the yoga articles are with me as they are the most important.

It is the time of month again, when I recommend you guys one little or big thing you can do, add to your life or take out of your life to live more sustainable. Making your own life and your surroundings a little better. As my interest for wellbeing, ethical living, yoga and mindfullness is growing so is my passion for sharing little or big things with you guys. This months tip is more a tip for your own health and your own wellbeing, but I find this just as important as living ethical. In my mind it is all connected, if you dont feel good about yourself, you are not going to add much positive value to your surroundings.

M E D I T A T E

Meditation is something I have not been the best at, I´ve done it off and on over the last few years with really good periods over longer time. I recently started meditating more again, I do find it really hard to find peace to do it. That is a sign in my eyes, that I really need more of it in my life. Being and living mindful is in my opinion very important to a healthy and happy life. We all need to just be in the moment, let our minds rest. There are different ways to mediate, so my tip is that you just experiment a little and try different techniques. I prefer going to a meditation meeting or group, so I´m not distracted by other influences. I also try using meditation music before going to bed on either Spotify or an app called Calm.

Both in Sydney and here in Oslo have I managed to find free meditation groups, which is something I recommend anyone to look for where you are located. The group here in Oslo is called Oslo Community Mindfulness.

Meditation is the journey
from sound to silence,
from movement to stillness,
from a limited identity,
to unlimited space.

I used to do regular “summaries” of the months as they passed and realised I havent done that for quite some time. Doing a summary of the winter therefore seemed more fitting, as it is finally over, and it has been a bit of a wild one I have to say.

 GOING THROUGH A BREAK-UP

The absolute worst and toughest part this winter was going through a break-up, especially when you choose to break-up with a person you actually still want to be together with. But our goals and needs became to different and to difficult for us o to please. Life is a strange puzzle, and sometimes you have to accept that the pieces you so desperately want to fit is not fitting, even though it might look like they do. Maybe we just need some time apart, who knows.

MOUNTAINS & SKIING

One really great thing about this winter is that I´ve been doing more skiing than I ever can remember, which have been a great escape. I love being in nature, especially the mountains.

LIVING WITH MY BESTFRIEND FRIDA

A puzzle that worked out really well, was that I was so lucky to move into my friend Frida´s apartment. This have been so good for me. I love spending time with her, and we just have so much crazy fun together and really understand each other, with good and bad.

GOING AFTER ONE OF MY DREAMS

This winter I finally made the decision to follow one of many dreams, with many more to follow when this one is achieved. Deciding to take my yoga to the next level, I´m flying to Indonesia in two weeks, completing the first level of becoming a certified yoga instructor. Living in a word where it is to easy to just do what is expected of you, and follow the main stream, I cant explain how good it feels to choose a different way of living.

WE ONLY HAVE THIS ONE LIFE THAT WE KNOW OFF, SO MAKE IT YOURS. MAKE YOUR DREAMS THE REALITY OF YOUR EXISTANCE.

One thing that I´ve really come to appreciate and not take for granted the last six months, is not to be ashamed of failure. Most people live their life afraid of failing, so therefore they do not dare taking the chances where they dont have a clear view of the outcome. We are so scared of failing, that we miss out on great opportunities that could lead us on a path to higher grounds, even if dont reach the peak of success we will learn from it till the next time we have an opportunity.

……..

Before I finally managed to make the decision that I wanted to become a certified yoga teacher, I was only thinking about all the postures I could not manage and how I was failing at not being good enough. I have never been naturally flexible, I have never been really strong or good at anatomy but I do LOVE yoga and all the great benefits of it. Thankfully I changed my mindset around, I simply allow myself to fail, not be good enough. Because I will try again and again, until I will manage to do it. I will work hard for it, because if i dont dare to fail I will never know how far I can reach.

My friend Frida and I have been practising different “difficult” yoga postures, Feathered Peacock being the most difficult one, we still are not able to do it properly, but we are not giving up on it. When we finally manage to do it perfectly, we will find a new and more difficult one to practise.
