Most of us are wanting more peace and mindfulness in our lives, more time with people we care about and more joy, but often we still get caught up in the traditional christmas chaos of expectations, more gifts, more parties, new dresses and more unhealthy and unethical food. I believe if we focus less on what the mainstream December usually looks like, and take a few simple steps towards a more mindful approach; you will find more peace, mindfulness quality time with loved one´s and joy.

 

SELF CARE
I cant say this enough, make sure you have time to look after yourself and do things for yourself and being kind and gentle towards yourself. Practise yoga, get time alone, take a bath anything that feels good for you.

QUALITY TIME VS ENDLESS CHRISTMAS PARTIES
We all get invited to all these parties, and for some reason we always feel guilty if we dont go, so we feel like we have to go to please everyone else. Start taking control over your own wants and needs, and simply say NO, if you dont want  to go. In my opinion I rather spend quality time with the people I really wanna spend time with than sit around a table and have conversations that give me nothing.

THE GIFTS…
Skip the bullshit gifts, if you really wanna give something, give with meaning and love: Homemade food, skin care, candles etc. Experiences for yours loved one´s, maybe even for you to join with them; theatre, cinema, home-cooked dinner and wine night, spa package, baby sitting, only your imagination can stop you there.

GIVE TIME TO THOSE IN NEED
Give your time to people who really need it, or donate blankets, buy a cup of coffee to a homeless person, go to a animal shelter and give your time there, maybe even let the man who is offering to polish your shoes on the street polish your shoes. All life matter so we need to look after each other.

FOOD CONSCIOUSNESS 
Eat healthier, more plants and maybe its time to start your own new christmas food traditions, because sometimes it is completely ok to ditch old and approach new. If you do chose to have a vegan christmas I can guarantee you that your mind and your body will feel much more fulfilled and happy.


Most important dont follow the rules and do christmas a certain way just because other people are doing it, do what is right for you.
