Hey Monday

I was loving the gloomy weather yesterday, sometimes it is nice to have a complete indoor chill Sunday, without feeling bad about not leaving the house.
After two days of going through my grandmas personal things, which have been nice but also a bit sad… It was good to just have this type of Sunday.

As a blogger and social media person, I use social media quite often. Instagram being my social media hang-up and favourite platform. I find it important to find your style and have a continues look. Having a type of red thread, will make your Instagram look much better as complete “lookbook”.

I use VSCO for editing, always using the same filter. Using the same filter will make your photos more similar and give them more of the same feel.
I use C1, then depending on the colour in the photo, I will turn the vibrant a bit down to 7 or 8.
Then I turn the saturation down as well. Usually -1 or -2.

My Instagram style is a combination of travel/nature photos and outfit photos. Creating each row into a story that belong together. I choose to focus on this as nature, travel and ethical fashion are my most common blog themes as well, so the blog and Instagram work well together.

Weekend is over again, almost a shame how quickly they pass by. I´m working this afternoon, so spending my morning doing yoga and updating the blog.
This weekend was a quite one, starting with a beautiful walk Saturday morning, then spending a few hours in the city. There is a “ECO WEEK OSLO ” happening, so there was a huge farmers market down by the harbour. All the different stands, had food and drink samples for everyone to try, and you could purchase their specialty products for a good price.

 – Saturday walk around Østensjø –

– Attending the farm markets in collaboration with the ECO WEEK OSLO –

– Baker Hansen ( a Norwegian bakery/cafe chain) has started using oatmylk instead of soy, so I´m sooo exited about that. Oatmylk is just hundre times better than soy, and it is also healthier. –

Sunday was a combination of cleaning the apartment and getting out of the house. We walked down to Nordstrand beach area, only a 35 min walk from us, brought some fire wood, veggie sausages and enjoyed a few hours outside. The weather were so so this weekend, but still good to get out. Love that we have so many green spots around us.

– Having a little bbq at the beach, with the tastiest veggie sausages I´ve ever tried, you get them at coop stores around Norway. –

Hope you have a good week ahead, I´m working, doing internship, catching up with a friend, going home to help my grandad for a day and then Jens and I have our good friends Zoe and Mauro coming to visit us. They are also moving back to Europe from Sydney, so we are so exited to see them again.

Happy weekend lovelies, hope you have some nice plans this Saturday?

It´s a food festival going on in Oslo, with tastings of Norwegian produced products and several events around the city, we are going to check it out a bit later, but first I wanted to share a great DIY project that I just finished with my mum.

My mum has a lovely garden with loads of pretty flowers, but more interesting, a huge herb garden. With; oregano, thyme, mint, parsley, lavender and a few others as well.
Drying herbs is easy, you pick a huge bunch, better do it before it gets to cold, so end of August beginning og September is a good time. Either lay them flat on a tray or hang them up, best to keep them in a dry place. They need a few weeks to dry, so be patient.

When they are dry enough, you just pull the leafs of the stick/branch. So you only get the herb leafs, then crush them a bit, so it realises more of the flavour and it will also be easier to use it in everyday cooking. I always keep old glass jars, which is perfect storage for the dried herbs, it looks nice, so it is also a really nice little gift idea.

Hope your week is going all right? We have almost been living in Oslo for two weeks now, so are getting into routines. I thought I should give you a small update on what is going and will happen the next coming months.

We are renting a really nice “half basement” apartment close to Ekeberg. As we came to Norway with basically nothing, we decided to rent a furnished place for the beginning, as we dont know yet what is going to happen next.

I´m starting working for local owned boutique called Kiman Woman, which distributes many Scandinavian labels, like; IBEN, DAY and Baum & Pferdgarten and many more.

I´m starting a design / marketing internship with a small Oslo label called By MagMaLou, I love working with small labels, especially a local one as well. It is great getting back into a good work habit.

Living a bit out of the city, surrounded by several great walking areas makes me so happy. Looking forward to discover my new area.

Signing up for yoga is next on the list, when I get my weekly work schedule organised.

Enjoy the rest of your week guys x

Hi lovelies, hope your week is going all right? We´ve almost been in Oslo a week already, and we are both starting work next week which is very exiting. As I´m having a bit off a though time, it feels good that things are falling into place and I know my grandma would have been very proud.

This week I met up with a good friend of mine, Charlotte. Who have just moved back to Oslo after living in Paris for a while. She and I share the same interest in blogging, social media and fashion. So it is great to meet up, talk and help each other take photos for our blogs and social media. So much more fun when you have a friend with the same interest.

Autumn is defiantly here, and I´m exiting to experience my first nordic autumn in five years. Going into a new season, I like setting some goals for the coming months. Setting goals makes your everyday life a bit more exiting and helps you stay on top of everything.

Spend time exploring Oslo, all though Oslo is pretty much the same as the last time I lived here. I have a different perspective on life and new interests. So exploring sides of Oslo that meets my interests is high on the list.

As always, exercise is important. the last few months have been very out of rhythm, so it is a goal to get back into good exercise habits again.

Spend more time with my family.

Keep my focus on work and internship, growing and challenge myself.

What are your goals for this coming season?

Hi lovelies, it has been a long time since I´ve done monthly updates, as it has been a lot of travelling, moving and life changing events, I fell out of rhythm with that. All though August ended with grief and heartbreak, I still want to focus on the positives, life is to short. I also believe you are allowed to be sad and happy at the same time.

– I got to see my grandmother at home a few times before she ended up in the hospital –

– The Stavern Festival with all my lovely friends –

– Visit from Australia & going to Holland –

– Two amazing mountain trips with great hikes –

– Volunteering during Oslo Runway –

– The last time I went to see my grandmother in the hospital. I did not expect it to be the last, but that is life. Unpredictable. So I have to treasure that moment –

Hi lovely people, it has been a really difficult past couple of days… My amazing grandmother have been struggling with cancer for a few years, and this summer she got really sick, very sudden. It has been a tough two months, of her being in the hospital, not getting any better. Saturday evening her body gave up and she passed away. Thankfully my grandpa was there with her. It is going to be a tough time, after being so much away the last years, I was so happy to finally be home, ready to spend more precious time with her.. It is hard to accept, someone you had such a close relationship with, all the memories, and now there will not be anymore.

I´m so sad, and I´m not yet ready to accept the reality, all though I have to be happy that she is no longer suffering, cause being stuck in a hospital bed is no life worth living.

Thank you for all the love and comfort.
Thank you for all the joy and laughs.
Thank you for all support.
Thank you for all the trips.
Thank you for all the love.

I´ll try to keep updating a few times a week as usual, all though I´m taking a day at a time. We are also moving into Oslo this weekend, so it is a lot happening at the same time.

Hope you are having a lovely start to your weekend? We have been back and forth to Oslo this week again, as we are in the middle of applying for jobs, interviews and apartment hunting.
This trip from Wednesday to Thursday were a combination of all three, also including helping out during Vanessa Rudjord x ByMagMaLou´s runway show, which was a lot of fun, and I received a nice little
goodie-bag as a thanks for helping out.

We also saw three apartments, one that we liked a lot, so we are making up our mind this weekend if we are going for it. We still dont have jobs, it is a bit of a risk moving in already, but it is also becoming a bit exhausting going back and forth from Larvik several times a week. This apartment was just perfect. I also have a few interviews which is making it more exiting going forward. Back in Larvik again for the weekend, joining a family party and catching up with some friends, just enjoying the calm small city life, cant complain with a view like this.

I´m in on my way to Oslo again, dropping of my aussie friend then Jens and I got a few appointments today, then working for a local Oslo brand tomorrow morning, for their fashion show in corporation with the “Fashion week” here in Oslo. Fun to take part of the show, and slowly get into the industry here in Norway. It is slowly going towards autumn, new season and new opportunities. Crazy how fast the summer went?! All though I cant complain as I´ve had holiday since I finished my studies three months ago.

I´ve really been loving the denim look this summer, a bit different than what I usually go for, but it is always fun to try new things right? Denim and blue hues also suit the summer time, especially when you spend time on the coast. I´ve also had all my clothes shipped to Holland, then from Holland to Norway, so my choice of clothes have been narrowed down.
