Are you comfortable in your own skin? Are you comfortable with yourself when you are naked?

We are all born naked, and we all play naked on the beach as children. Then we reach a certain age and our parents no longer feel comfortable with us running around naked. As young adults we are taught that females have to cover up their breasts and that female nipples is associated with something sexual. We are also starting to question the shape and size of our breasts, and our waistline, bum, six-packs and toned visible muscles. Our bodies become so important that we become in need of constant confirmation from others, specially the opposite sex.

We all find flaws with our own bodies, we compare our features to others, it is almost as being happy with your body is shameful, because society is constantly chasing for something better. Body shaming is a thing that has to stop, we need to reconnect with our bodies and start appreciating all different sizes and shapes. Stop sexualising female breasts, the are beautiful indeed, but so are many other body parts too, that we are showing off to the world with no problem. If I dont wanna wear a bra I should not wear one. If I dont wanna wear a bikini top to the beach, why should I? It is my body, my breast. We all have them, shivas and shaktis.

Being happy with our bodies is not about having to have the perfect body, because there is no such thing as perfect. It is about embracing what you have and are. Become comfortable in your own skin, completely naked. Touch and sense all the curves and lines of your body, it is perfect as it is. As long as you are looking after your physical and emotional health, what matter the most is a healthy internal body and mind, a glowing inside will reflect on your external body and make your outside shine.


“Growing up I went through body shaming from other people, and also my own judgement towards myself. I was to skinny, which I would always receive comments on from others, which made me believe it myself. I was to skinny. I would try to eat unhealthy to gain weight. I loved running and exercise, but I would barely allow myself, as I was so worried I would look even more skinny & lose weight. I would wear a bra that was to big with paddings, so it actually looked like I had some curves. I got so used to people thinking that I had eating disorders, it almost did not bother me anymore.

Then I became an adult. Suddenly I started getting all these compliments on how amazing my body look. How lucky I am to be so tiny. How fit I look, perfect toned muscles. Telling me how lucky I am.
How lucky….

Suddenly this little girl went from being imperfect to perfect in the eyes of society?” 


I´m not perfect, and I dont want to be perfect. But I do feel perfect just as I am. Ive come to love my body, just as it is. It deserves to be appreciated just as it is. Your body deserves to be appreciated by you, just as it is.  Embrace every inch of it, be one with your naked body & start accepting.
We are all born naked. We all have bodies of flesh, bones, muscles, fat, hair and curves. Our bodies is a very important part of the human experience. Embrace your bodily experience. Become one with it and if you, just like I do feel; oppressed by society? Start going against the stream, yes it will put you in an uncomfortable situation, but if nobody is willing to fight for equality and challenge the rules of society, nothing will change.

Humans spend most of their time on their feet, laying down or seated, we usually do not spend much time upside down. I believe we all can benefit from turning our world upside down and reverse our blood flow & our point of view. Doing headstands or shoulder-stands are a great way to practise reversing our perspective and  it has many great benefits to your body & soul.

I do not recommend you to jump straight into headstands or shoulder-stands if you have no previous experience with it, practise this postures with long time yogis or qualified yoga teacher, someone who can guide you, then progressing to using the wall before you move onto full versions. Doing these postures wrong can cause injuries, so make sure you respect your own body by practising safe.

I belive that you can not live a completely happy life without a healthy diet. I feel the benefits of living healthy everyday. If I have a couple of days off bad eating routines I can even feel my energy level decreasing, and I feel less fresh as well. To me a 100% plant-based diet with mostly unprocessed foods are the only way to eat by.

Smoothie bowls have become very popular the last years, and you can simply make them yourself at home. I like having them for breakfast, but you can always adjust the recipe/ingredients depending if you are having it for breakfast or lunch.

My favourite is a berry breakfast bowl

With spring comes the beautiful yellow dandelions, they pop up everywhere and most people dont think much of them. I´m here to change your opinion on that. The dandelion is a super great plant that has real health benefits, especially the root of the flower.

The dandelion root is a great, to mention a few amazing uses for it; detoxifier of our digestive system, liver, gallbladder & its also a powerful antioxidant. The amazing thing is that you can just go out and pick it yourself, so its a complete free super food right outside of your door.

The best way to use the root, is to dry it, pick it into tiny small pieces and boil it. I decided to add in a few other amazing elements to my elixir, to get a kick ass super healthy daily booster.

turmeric root, ginger root, black pepper & chilli. 


A LITTLE TIP

I add the black pepper because it makes it much easier for the body to absorb the health benefits of turmeric, it increases the observation with app 2000%, which is insanely high, so no point leaving it out.  


 

STEP BY STEP

Chop the turmeric, ginger and dandelion root into small pieces, add it into the pot with water.

Crush the black peppers or use a pepper cracker.

Chop the fresh chilli, just add after your liking of spice, I like it pretty spicy so Ill add a reasonable amount.

Let it all boil and then simmer for a while, 1-2h.

Let it cool down before you strain it with a cloth, to get all the pieces out. I´m leaving it to cool all day, as I´m busy for the rest of the day.

FINAL STEP

To make sure we dont waist any part of the brew, try to blend all the little pieces with some new water in a blender, drain it again, so hopefully you can still get some final juice out of the ingredients.

Good morning wonderful people, Its Friday morning here in Oslo, I´m having a slow morning before work. My weekend is going to be busy, so today was the only day I could allow for a sleep in and quiet morning.

Its Monday evening, but feels like Sunday evening as we have had a long weekend.
I´m watching the trees & leafs through my livingroom window, they are moving gracefully. It is a calming and soothing movement, therapeutic.


It is amazingly lush and green around Oslo now, which makes me smile and feel incredible happy. I always try to spend a lot of time in nature, to feel connected to our natural surroundings, mindfully observing nature & connecting with myself. Three days of time spent outside, walking barefoot, smelling the beautiful smells of spring and observing has recharged my batteries for a new week. Living in a city, sometimes we simply forget to be outside around natural elements. So if you feel that you need more time in nature, do something about it now.

I´m flying off to Bali in a few days, feeling a bit unconscious & nervous for this month that lay ahead. This week have been fully booked, mostly work. So I haven´t got much spare time. It is the time of month again, when I recommend you guys one little or big thing you can do, add to your life or take out of your life to live more sustainable. Making your own life and your surroundings a little better. As my interest for wellbeing, ethical living, yoga and mindfullness is growing so is my passion for sharing little or big things with you guys. This months tip is more a tip for your own health and your own wellbeing, but I find this just as important as living ethical. In my mind it is all connected, if you dont feel good about yourself, you are not going to add much positive value to your surroundings.

 

M E D I T A T E

Meditation is something I have not been the best at, I´ve done it off and on over the last few years with really good periods over longer time. I recently started meditating more again, I do find it really hard to find peace to do it. That is a sign in my eyes, that I really need more of it in my life. Being and living mindful is in my opinion very important to a healthy and happy life. We all need to just be in the moment, let our minds rest. There are different ways to mediate, so my tip is that you just experiment a little and try different techniques. I prefer going to a meditation meeting or group, so I´m not distracted by other influences. I also try using meditation music before going to bed on either Spotify or an app called Calm.

Both in Sydney and here in Oslo have I managed to find free meditation groups, which is something I recommend anyone to look for where you are located. The group here in Oslo is called Oslo Community Mindfulness.

This week have passed by really quick, it is already Thursday and I have a long weekend a head, with a busy agenda. I´m very focused on meditation, exercise and yoga philosophy these days. After thinking about extending my yoga knowledge for a very long time I have finally made a decision to actually do something about it. I have booked a yoga teacher training retreat in Bali, so I´n one month I´m on my way to a small island outside of Bali. There I will be staying for a month completing level 1 200 hours, becoming a qualified yoga teacher. I still cant believe I´m finally doing this, yoga is something I´ve practised for a long time, but it is not until lately that I have discovered the power of yoga and meditation. Going through a very though time the last six months, the yoga practise have really helped me find my path & pull me through.

 

I´m first of all doing the yoga teacher training for my own benefit, developing myself and connecting with my body on a deeper and extended level. Hopefully it will be a very powerful and eyeopening experience that I can take with me and share with others.
