Kombucha is a health-drink that have become increasingly popular in the western world over the last few years. It is a fermented drink, made of a few key ingredients; black and/or green tea, sugar and the bacteria that creates the fermentation process the mushroom; scoby.

When the scoby comes into contact with the tea and sugar a fermentation process starts and it eats the sugar, the fermentation process and adds many great bacterias to the tea, it usually takes a few weeks to make.

BENEFITS

Antioxidants

Probiotics for the digestive system.

Can kill bacteria

May prevent heart disease

May help against cancer

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/8-benefits-of-kombucha-tea#section6

HOWEVER
kombucha is a great drink to add to your lifestyle, and it is important to consume it mindfully. Kombucha is being sold everywhere these days and we buy/consume it almost as a healthy soda, some might even drink a bottle every day.

The bacteria in the kombucha is great for your gut and digestive system, but only in moderation. All though it is being sold as healthy soda, you should not drink more than 1-3 shots of kombucha a day.

Drinking to much of it you will upset the balance in your gut and get an “overdose” of certain types of bacteria and you can create a yeast infection in your gut. ( speaking of personal experience)

So be mindful of your kombucha habits and if you buy /brew a big bottle, keep it in the fridge for a few days and drink a few shots a day instead of everything in one go.

Hi love tribe, hope your soul is on fire and that you are radiating love and joy.

I´ve had a pretty emotional week, feeling a lot of different things, being happy, joyful, energised but also really tired, annoyed and anxious. It is new moon today, so it also makes sense that its been a bit of a mix of emotions the last couple of days. So today I needed some clarity and comfort, and I will do a new moon meditation later just to clarify the goals I set at the previous full moon and work on my manifestations.

I will do a post dedicated to new moon rituals very soon, but this post was really to recommend a great podcast episode that I listened to today. Which gave me good energy and also, helped me ground and release some of the anxious feelings I´ve been channelling.

ANCIENT WISDOM TODAY with SHAMAN DUREK
is a great podcast with so many great topics, ideas, meditations and wisdom.

“Defining your reality”

it is one of the latest episodes on the podcast and it just allowed me to shift my mind back in the right direction. Reminding me of being me fully, allowing myself to express myself how I want to express. Allow my soul to do what makes me happy. And that I am the creater of my life and my reality.

I hope you will have an amazing day, be yourself and stop doing things that does not serve your soul and that makes you feel like you are not being true to yourself.

Blessings and love to you all beautiful souls. I hope you are all well and I´m sending love to all of you.

Our body is a magical thing, so is our mind, and I believe we are all capable of much more than what we believe, we just need to come into deeper connection with ourselves and also open up to receiving and learn to let go and release.

Letting go, releasing and healing is a very difficult task. We are living in this society that are training us to be perfect and having perfect lives without any mistakes, without any traumas. Allowing healing to happen is so important if you want to be the best version of yourself and if you want to live a healthy life.

The body stores everything , everything that we experience the body remember, so even though your mind has forgotten about it the body will hold on to the experiences, both good and bad. So when you at a later time in life experience something similar to experiences you have had before the body will recognise this and behave in the samme manner, and also the trauma stored in the body will keep growing, they will be blockages in your system.

I have personally started to dive deep into my own traumas and blockages. For the last six months I´ve had some very difficult past-experiences reoccur into my life. I went to a few workshops that triggered the traumas that I had buried deep down for many years. The past-experience came back and hit me hard, bot emotionally and physically.

This experience made me realise how important it is to allow yourself to have emotional trauma release.
I personally want to be the best version of myself, and allowing the mind and the body to let go of past experiences is so vital for personal growth, for your health and for your own happiness.

Hiya all wonderful beings, hope you are having a magical day.

I feel like sharing some wisdom on the topic yoga, and what yoga truly is. Yoga and mindfulness are becoming very popular and there are millions of inspiring social media accounts flourishing with beautiful pictures and so called perfect yoga poses and many people are discovering yoga and meditation practise every day.

I also admit that social media gets to me a bit as well, social media holds so much power and its easy to get caught up in this unconscious world that is programming us to believe, buy and change our mindset to what suits them.

Yoga is so much more than the movements that we do on a mat a few times a week, it is an ancient philosophy with 8 steps to reach the state of bliss, contentment and stillness in meditation.

The 8 steps all work together to help you arrive at Samahdi;
oneness with the act of meditation.

Yoga as we know it in the west is the third step called asana. Preparing our bodies and mind with movement before coming into meditation. Then the forth step which is pranayama – practise of the breath, which is also briefly touched on in “western” yoga.

Yoga is not about looking beautiful in a pose or pushing yourself to attend as many classes as you can per week, or building muscles.
Yoga is about balance, love, contentment, acceptance, fun, stillness, peace, mindfulness, honesty & much much more.

I´m a teacher of yoga and also a practiser of authentic yoga, and no I cant perform many of the asanas that we see on social media and that is completely fine, because this journey I´m on is not about accessing the poses that look amazing and that are really hard. My journey is about real yoga. My practise has not reached perfection, I might not even reach “perfection”. But as long as my daily yoga practise is not about becoming fit and looking beautiful, but about balance, love, contentment and joy; I´m satisfied.

So this pose might not look like yoga to you, and it is far from perfect that is for sure. But it is yoga. Its me accepting that I am as I am.

This one is to all my soul sisters out there, to all your beautiful female formations and female powers.

There is no denying that a male and a female have some different needs and bodily features, that is how the universe created us. So instead of fighting against our bodies and the nature of our being we should embrace our bodies and be proud of being born into a female body.

One of the female needs that I personally for a very very long time did not accept is having my period and not being ashamed and annoyed about it. I used contraception pills for almost 9 years, and probably only had my period 20-30 times over the last nine years. Thinking back I´m between laughing and crying at how badly I´ve treated my feminine powers, I´ve neglected a huge part of being fully me, having an authentic & present experience in a female form.

So this is to all my soul sisters out there, please please please allow yourself to be fully present in your body and embrace your period with love, kindness and presence.

Finally I´m clean of any chemical pill and I`m embracing my period fully, which means I now have to use sanitary products every month. This made me realise how much waist we accumulate with using tampongs and pads. Not only waist, but products that are tested on animals and also products that have toxins that are absorbed straight into your core essence.

The more I thought about the more repulsed I got, to using pads and tampongs. But I was also sceptical to the reusable alternatives. Thankfully I have an amazing soul tribe that I had discussions with, and that inspired me to try out the great alternative to tampongs.

GUESS WHAT!??
It works like magic.

The reusable rubber cup is easy to use, it is easy to clean and is not leaving any toxins in your body and imagine how much less waist we can create.

POSITIVES ABOUT THE MOON CUP

You can leave it in for longer than tampongs.

You can sleep with it.

You can boil it and reuse it over and over again.

No toxins coming into your body.

Much much less waist.

Cheaper than buying single use tampongs and pads.

My wonderful soul tribe, I hope you are enjoying the now, living in the present moment and taking in all the wonders around you. On my journey with yoga, meditation & mindfulness I´ve been working so much with my breath, and all my teaching is very much focused on using the breath, allowing it to become your very best friend. If you are in need of a little reminder, sit down in a quiet place, relax yourself, take a few deep inhales, and long exhales. Read this poem and take it in fully.

Observe me, says the Breath, and learn to live effortlessly in the Present Moment.
Feel me, says the Breath, and feel the Ebb and Flow of Life.
Allow me, says the Breath, and I’ll sustain and nourish you, filling you with energy and cleansing you of tension and fatigue.

Move with me, says the Breath, and I’ll invite your soul to dance.
Make sounds with me and I shall teach your soul to sing.
Follow me, says the Breath, and I’ll lead you out to the farthest reaches of the Universe, and inward to the deepest parts of your inner world.

Notice, says the Breath, that I am as valuable to you coming or going… that every part of my cycle is as necessary as another… that after I’m released, I return again and again… that even after a long pause – moments when nothing seems to happen – eventually I am there.

Each time I come, says the Breath, I am a gift from Life. And yet you release me without regret… without suffering… without fear.
Notice how you take me in, invites the Breath. Is it with joy… with gratitude…? Do you take me in fully… invite me into all the inner spaces of your home? …Or carefully into just inside the door? What places in you am I not allowed to nourish?

And notice, says the Breath, how you release me. Do you hold me prisoner in closed up places in the body? Is my release resisted… do you let me go reluctantly, or easily?

And are my waves of Breath, of Life, as gentle as a quiet sea, softly smoothing sandy stretches of yourself….? Or anxious, urgent, choppy waves…? Or the crashing tumult of a stormy sea…?

And can you feel me as the link between your inner and outer worlds… feel me as Life’s exchange between the Universe and You? The Universe breathes me into You… You send me back to the Universe. I am the flow of life between every single part and the Whole.

Your attitude to me, says the Breath, is your attitude to Life. Welcome me… embrace me fully. Let me nourish you completely, then set me free. Move with me, dance with me, sing with me, sigh with me… Love me. Trust me. Don’t try to control me.

I am the Breath.
Life is the Musician.
You are the flute.
And music – creativity – depends on all of us. You are not the Creator… nor the Creation.
We are all a part of the process of Creativity… You, Life, and me: the Breath.

If you love authentic chai lattes as much as I do, why not try making the concentrate yourself?

it is very simple, all you need are the ingredients listed below, a pot to cook it all inn and glass bottles to store it in when the brew is finished.

Many cafes only make chai lattes from a powder mix, that is full of sugar and other preservatives that are not good for your health. Using real chai concentrate taste much better and it also contains spices and herbs that are full of antioxidants and has different healing powers.

  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons (6 tea bags) black tea like Assam ( I used less tea)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar ( I used app 1 spoon of sugar)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise
  • 10 cardamom pods
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black peppercorns

Usually I never follow a recipe completely, its more a guideline for what is needed, which ingredients goes into it. I love experimenting when I cook or make things so the result can vary slightly from time to time.

Make sure you leave all the ingredients in the water over night, so you allow the flavours to set.
Strain the water into a bowl the next day, and fill up your glass bottles.
Store cold in a fridge.

Sending you love from magical winter wonderland, I´m back in Norway after a month in Australia. A month of great learning and much needed sun, however I was ready for my holiday to come to an end and I´m very exited for a new chapter in my life to evolve.

I really want to start the next month feeling completely energised and cleansed, so this holiday has certainly done the job for my energy level being increased, but the cleansing still need to be completed. To feel cleansed, I´m doing a salt water flush followed by a kitchardi detox.

I started the day today with a salt water flush. A salt water flush is a very simple cleanse of your colon and great way to detoxify your internal system.

HOW TO DO IT

make sure you have not had any food for at least 2-3 hour prior ( I prefer doing it in the moring, on a day that I have at least 3 hours before I have to leave the house, but preferable on a day you dont really have to do much.)

Boil 1 litre of water, so the water is purified. Pour the boiled water into a jar, adding two spoons of the salt, making sure you are using good quality salt – preferable himalaya salt.

Allow the water and salt mixture to cool down til a temperature that is easy to drink fast.

Add some fresh lemon to make it taste better.

I also add ground turmeric app 1 big table spoon to the mixture.

When the mixture have reached a comfortable temperature, you try to drink all of it as quick as possible. Preferable within 5 minutes.

It will taste extremly salty and you will fill a bit sick from drinking so much salt water. (At least I do)

When you have managed to finish the mixture, I personally like to make the detox more ceremonial. I put on some relaxing meditation / yoga music and allow my body to move slowly in an organic way, touching my stomach area gently. Sending good intention and love to the gut that is about to let go of toxins that no longer serve your body.

You can read more about the salt water flush
HERE

I´m making sure to eat food that is gentle to the system and easy to digest for the rest of the day, and will start the kitchardi detox the following day.

A kitchardi detox is an ancient detox from the Indian Ayurvedic system, which is a combination of basmati rice, mung beans and Ayurvedic spices; Turmeric, cumin, coriander and fennel.

This exact combination of spices and grains have been used for thousands of years as a gentle detox for the digestive system making sure you get all the nutrition your body need.

“What is kitchardi? Touted as an Ayurvedic superfood, kitchardi is a stew of mung bean, basmati rice, ghee (clarified butter) or sesame oil (vegan) and digestive spices. The mung lentil’s completeness score (how complete a food is in all of the elements needed by the human body, including vitamins, minerals, starches, fats and proteins) is 80/100 (this is super rare). Ghee or sesame oil and rice supply the 20 missing elements like fat soluble vitamins, essential fatty acids and carbohydrates. So this means that kitchardi gives you everything your body needs without any other foods, and actually eating kitchardi is probably giving you more of the elements your regular diet is missing.

In Ayurveda, mung is recognised for its detoxifying properties, while also being rejuvenative. This is really unique because most herbs and foods that detox strip down the body tissues instead of replenishing them. Kitchardi is considered a nutritive for the digestive system, meaning it helps to restore and rehabilitate digestive tissues.”

This will be the first time I will try this detox, and I´m really exited for it. The detox is recommended to do for 3 to 7 days. Since its the first time, I will start with 4 days. If this seems all right for my body, I will try to make this a regular detox routine every 2nd month.

Good morning amazing tribe, I´m hoping that the new year have started off with good things for you and that you are on a path to becoming the best version of yourself and allowing your mind body and soul enough time for healing.

I´m still in Australia soaking up some much needed vitamin D from its most natural source, doing costal walks, a lot of physical yoga practise and reading 2-3 hours everyday. The last two weeks have been a time for me to charge the batteries and prepare for a new exiting year, with many new things being added to my life when I go back home. I want to be 200% present with myself, so I can put that energy into creating amazing things and help others to become more connected and conscious, becoming a better version of them self.

I believe that we all have to be in contact with ourselves and have a loving relationship with ourselves to be able to bring love and care to the world we live in. From my past experience I´ve learned that in order to heal and help the people around, you need to be in that state of unconditional love with yourself and your life. In order to maintain this state we need to nourish our mind, body and spirit.

TAKE THE TIME TO HEAL

This is so important, taking the time to heal.
For many of us living in harsh long winter conditions, we sometimes tend to need more nourishment than those living in warmer climate. Wherever you live, whatever your life situation is, take the time and listing to what your body is telling you. What are the signs of what you need?

I need warm weather and sun, not all the time, because I love the seasons and I love the winter, but my mind, body and soul does not love the winter and the darkness for 5 months straight. So one of my healing methods during the winter is to respect that I need sun, and take action and go where the sun is. When I get there, I make sure that I stay present and that I take the time to truly send love and thanks to the sun for healing me.

When I respect my body and listen to it, and pay attention to the signals, I notice the difference straight away. I allow myself time to heal. This results in me being able to bring more good vibes out to the world and little by little make this world a more loving place.

I hope from the deepest loving place in my heart that you see that that is so important and that you, if our not already healing yourself, will join me on this path. If you are unsure of what you need; start journaling. Writing down when you notice that you are having a hard time, notice what the reasons are and slowly start making a map of what type of healing you need for different times of the year and for different situations.

I hope you are ready to start the new year working on unconditional love for yourself and your own healing journey, so you can become a part of the love revolution, healing the world.
