Hi lovelies, weekend is here again. I´m going home this weekend, spending some time with my family.
Now that I´m settled, and I got more space, I´ve taken my sewing machine out, and started on some projects. Only small once, as sewing is my least favourite part of the design process. Having that said, I do like visualising, creating & making. So when I get in the mood, it is really nice. Also seeing the result is great.

This week I´ve taken the sleeves off a linen blouse, which made it it a bit more cool. (it is a summer blouse, so wont wear it until next year) Then I found some pieces of a cool vintage fabric that I have, and a knitted top (used to be part of a dress) and made it into a new top. I love combing different textured fabrics and colours. So this top is really my style. As the back of it is short / open it will be cool with a high waisted skirt or pants.

Hope your week is going all right? We have almost been living in Oslo for two weeks now, so are getting into routines. I thought I should give you a small update on what is going and will happen the next coming months.

We are renting a really nice “half basement” apartment close to Ekeberg. As we came to Norway with basically nothing, we decided to rent a furnished place for the beginning, as we dont know yet what is going to happen next.

I´m starting working for local owned boutique called Kiman Woman, which distributes many Scandinavian labels, like; IBEN, DAY and Baum & Pferdgarten and many more.

I´m starting a design / marketing internship with a small Oslo label called By MagMaLou, I love working with small labels, especially a local one as well. It is great getting back into a good work habit.

Living a bit out of the city, surrounded by several great walking areas makes me so happy. Looking forward to discover my new area.

Signing up for yoga is next on the list, when I get my weekly work schedule organised.

Enjoy the rest of your week guys x

Autumn is defiantly here, and I´m exiting to experience my first nordic autumn in five years. Going into a new season, I like setting some goals for the coming months. Setting goals makes your everyday life a bit more exiting and helps you stay on top of everything.

Spend time exploring Oslo, all though Oslo is pretty much the same as the last time I lived here. I have a different perspective on life and new interests. So exploring sides of Oslo that meets my interests is high on the list.

……..

As always, exercise is important. the last few months have been very out of rhythm, so it is a goal to get back into good exercise habits again.

……..

Spend more time with my family.

……..

Keep my focus on work and internship, growing and challenge myself.

What are your goals for this coming season?

Hope you are having a lovely start to your weekend? We have been back and forth to Oslo this week again, as we are in the middle of applying for jobs, interviews and apartment hunting.
This trip from Wednesday to Thursday were a combination of all three, also including helping out during Vanessa Rudjord x ByMagMaLou´s runway show, which was a lot of fun, and I received a nice little
goodie-bag as a thanks for helping out.

………

We also saw three apartments, one that we liked a lot, so we are making up our mind this weekend if we are going for it. We still dont have jobs, it is a bit of a risk moving in already, but it is also becoming a bit exhausting going back and forth from Larvik several times a week. This apartment was just perfect. I also have a few interviews which is making it more exiting going forward. Back in Larvik again for the weekend, joining a family party and catching up with some friends, just enjoying the calm small city life, cant complain with a view like this.

Hi lovelies, we had such a busy but great weekend, with Jens´s dad and girlfriend visiting us from Holland, it was a very short visit this time around. Jens´s dad were so kind to offer to drive all our belongings over to Norway, as it arrived in Holland due to cheaper shipping costs from Sydney. We have not moved to Oslo yet, so since it was such a brief visit, we decided to stay around Larvik, showing them local places.

……..

Tomorrow I have a friend / x-work mate from Sydney arriving, so another two days of sightseeing and fun coming up for us. Also some more exiting things coming up this week, which I´ll give you an update on later on.

Last weekend we had a great trip to Dovre National Park, doing two full day mountain hikes experiencing all kinds of weather; rain, snow, strong winds, a bit of sun and fog. We also encountered Musk Ox which there are only 300 left of in Norway, so that was very special. We did not get any decent photos of them, unfortunately.

………..

Norwegian mountains are a must see if you come to Norway, it is amazing how the nature and landscape changes across our the country.

Hi Lovelies

Hope you all had a great weekend? We went up in the mountains again, with stunning hikes and scenery. I´m a bit behind with my blogging, so will share some nature photos later this week.

…………

How beautiful is this courtyard? Holland have several of these “hidden” little gems, and they are all hundreds of years old. The one we are visiting here is in a city south of Holland, called Breda.

Hi lovelies, I thought I wanted to share something important with you today, as I´m constantly trying to live a ethical life, and also stand for all the choices that I make. One thing is to say you do something, another is to actually do it. The past 5 years have been spent travelling and living abroad, so I´ve seen a lot of pollution, rubbish, poverty and tourists taking advantage of being in a foreign land. I know for a fact that travelling can have a negative impact on the environment and it´s surroundings, therefor choosing to make some better choices while on a journey is very important to me. We try to chose the transport that has less of an impact on the environment, support local business and always leaving a place or a country in a good way.

………

Our oceans are extremely polluted. This was my main focus on my recent travel through Asia, as it was shocking to see how much waist are in our oceans, I can not just stand by and watch this. I dedicated time to clean plastic from the beach and from the ocean, even if you only pick up a few pieces of rubbish you are still making a small difference, being a good example for others to follow suit.

Hi lovelies

It´s a rainy Monday here today which is perfect for blog updating reminiscing about sunny days exploring Holland and a bit more serious; job & apartment research, slowly accepting that our to long holiday is coming to an end & new exiting times are starting.

….

Holland is very picturesque, which makes it more fun to take outfit photos and just photos in general, after living in such a new developed country like Australia it is great to be surrounded by old architecture again.

It has been two great weeks in Holland, creating better relations with family in-law and dutch friends. Moving home to Europe will make it much easier for us to build our relationship with everyone on this side of the planet. Holland is only a short flight away for us now, and so is the rest of Europe;

NEW ADVENTURES & DIFFERENT CULTURES

Visiting many different little cities and towns the past few weeks I´ve come to really adore the dutch canals, one of the characteristics of Holland.
